[And to think, just a few days ago Yasusada was regaling Danny with enthusiastic talk of his former master...
The Yasusada here now is a very different sight, all of his excitable energy replaced with a heavy air of sorrow. He looks, for once, all of his 550 years--he doesn't acknowledge Danny's presence, but he doesn't seem to be particularly aware of anything, right now, lost in his own thoughts. But he isn't giving off "go away" vibes; he won't turn Danny away if he chooses to approach.]
[ Danny is on the rooftop, taking in a biiiiig, deep breath of fresh air! That is, until he spots a bubble forming and approaching from the greenhouse. ]
[The rooftop!! It's not a bad place--Yasusada enjoys being in the rooftop, and sometimes when he comes up here, he can see the dojo or the meeting hall, which he likes. Perhaps they should've known there'd be no escape, though...]
[HELLO SMALL LAD here we are on the beach after all of that!!!
Yasusada still looks very tired, but the color has faded from his hands--for now, it's just his hair that's reflective of the night sky. He's still bandaged, and clearly hasn't been in the pods yet, but at least his injuries are relatively inconsequential compared to everyone else's. NOT NAMING NAMES, CLARTE.
It's a little half-hearted, still, but he gives Danny a smile when he sees him here as well, nodding slightly in greeting.]
[Well, for someone like Danny, that's a noticeable reaction--Yasusada gives him a curious look, as he takes a seat on a rock nearby. This rock was definitely always there and I didn't just magically make it up for this one thread, I don't know what you're talking about.]
[TO THE ROOFTOP. It's a good night to come brood on the rooftop; Yasusada is up here, looking... well. Very upset, understandably. He's not crying or anything, but there's a distant, hollow look in his eyes when he glances over at Danny--even so, though, he nods a little in greeting. So there's that.]
Well, we're so close to figuring out what's wrong, and then we'll bring them all back! It'll be like nothing ever happened! So there's no need to get sad about it!

You okay? [ the second he asks it, he cringes at himself. ]

I don't know. I don't think so. [But it's difficult to answer, beyond that.] In here... it's too much.
no subject
Uh...yeah...that happens.

...Our master should be able to find his spirit again. When we get home. But even so...
[Even so, it feels like failure to have lost him.]

We're from the same place--the same citadel. We didn't know each other before we met here, though. I only knew some of the other Gous.

...I'm glad Clarte will be okay.
no subject
Me too. That was...close. Way too close.
no subject
Yeah... Roxana is--was very strong.
[And willing to do anything to survive, as they saw. They're probably lucky Clarte fought her properly, considering how kind they can be.]

[ in the neutralest tone imaginable, but a half-note down. ]
Yeah. She...really was.
no subject
You don't think so?
no subject
Anyway, Danny shrugs into the sand. ]
I don't know what to think, I guess. I didn't really know her. I like, hardly ever spoke to her at all.
