[ Looks at your Okitacon. Looks at his brocon. same shape ] It is pretty scary, dude. I don't know how I'd feel if Noct was here, but there's no one I trust more than him. It's the same as you two, right? Uh. What does it mean to be sword partners anyways? Do you both have the same master?
[He nods; it is like that, for him. It would be one thing if it were a normal battlefield situation, but with the way this place works...]
Oh--well, yes, all of us Touken Danshi do. Aruji's the one who gives us these bodies, and that's when he becomes our master. But Kiyomitsu and I both belonged to Okita-kun, before that. We're the same type of sword, so Okita-kun couldn't take us both to the same battles, but at the Shinsengumi compound we were together all the time.
Oh, so you're a type of katana. My knowledge is pretty limited but I uh. Saw what he looked like before. [ memory ] He told me you're pretty new to the body thing. How do you like it so far?
Right, we're both uchigatana. [There is theoretically a wakizashi somewhere in existence but they will probably never be in the game so they don't need to be mentioned.
More importantly--he lifts a hand to his throat, rubbing lightly at the lingering scar on his neck before he drops it to rest over his heart.]
It's not bad. But this is the hardest part, I think.
[IT'S NOT OUR FAULT technically it would be the fourth one because there's a third guy in the game but shhh he's not in myuverse we don't talk about it.
He nods, though.]
It's not the same, as a spirit. We experience things, but we don't have human hearts, you know? So... it's not until we get these bodies that we really understand all the things we felt back then.
There's a frown for a moment as he rubs the back of his neck. ]
Must be rough having that and then memories being shared, huh? Like you'll feel it even more. I know you probably have seen and been through a lot as a sword. [ been through a lot of people too.
He's also thinking of the memory he saw from Kashuu. Hmm... ] Uh. Not sure if it'll help, but it's sometimes not easy having feelings even when you've been a person for a while. That's why you make friends. Having someone there to commiserate with you or be a sounding board from all of those feelings definitely helps.
[He doesn't really know how to explain that he tends to live in his own head anyway. For all that some of these memories might be painful, he revisits them so often on his own that none of them are terribly startling.
Instead--]
But most of them happened years ago, now. Some of them hundreds of years ago. [So they're old aches, rather than tender new ones. He smiles a little, though, and nods.]
Mm. Some of the other swords... they're really easy to talk to. And the other Shinsengumi swords are always there, of course.

You weren't able to find them again first?

I was at home, but... I miss everyone there, too. And Aruji, of course.

Yeah, I know the feeling... [ really well ] It's good you have your partner here at least.

And half the time Yasusada acts tsuntsun and stupid, but this time he smiles, brushing his bangs out of his face.]
Mm... it's a little scary. But I think... I'm more glad that he's here.
