Week 3 -- Memory Share on Tuesday Morning!

[The bubble ambushed them. Not that November minds too much -- there's only one thing he doesn't want others to see, and so far, only one person has gotten it. Once the memory starts, he's glad to see this is not that one]

------------

Perhaps seeing November tied up with a rope is unexpected. There he is, standing to a side, while a woman unties him. Several men with armor and large weaponry barged into what seems to be a room in a bar, where a burly man and a kid are pointed at. November, as usual, has such a calm expression you'd think he's just a spectator in everything.

"You're like a knight in shining armor, Misaki" he said to the woman. Misaki Kirihara, officer from Tokyo.

"Who are they?"

"The ones responsible for the explosions" he replied, rubbing his wrist.

"I'm glad you're not hurt" Misaki said, focusing back on what's obviously a pair of very dangerous individuals. They have their hands in the air. What she says next, though, is something November didn't expect, because his usual smile is replaced by a puzzled expression. "Your partner led me here"

"Partner?"

"Yes, July"

Partner...now that was...unexpected. Dolls were people who were used for reconaissance and spying, thanks to their ability to see in other locations through a specific material. In July's case, it was glass. He did know July had pinpointed his location, but he hadn't expected the 'partner' part. Dolls are inexpresive and have almost nothing in their heads except what you program in them.

That July had, by his own volition, apparently called him a partner...it brought pause to November. He kept thinking about it while the kid and the man were getting apprehended. Suddenly, the kid made a gesture, dragging his thumb on the side of his face, and as soon as he did, handprints lighted up in the area. Wherever these handprints were at an explosion happened, flinging shrapnel and broken stuff around. A Contractor, indeed. While everything exploded and the criminals ran away, November grabbed Kirihara, shielding her, and threw themselves to the floor.

-ooooo-

The kid was running, having been fighting with another person of interest. The kid that harmed April and got her gravely injured in the hospital. Not only this was his job, it also was personal. November took advantage of the moment the kid stepped on a puddle, freezing his shoes in place.

"I forgot to tell you something" he said, while very unkempt-looking from the explosions earlier, his suit ruined, and himself supported by Misaki. July was by right his side. "Good boys shouldn't be up this late"

"Get out of my way!" the kid shouted, crouching and melting away the ice, running away towards a building.

No way he could get away! Misaki tried to run after him, but November stopped her immediately. After telling her to go pursue the man, November made clear his intentions: "I have to teach that mischievous boy a lesson" Misaki didn't seem convinced, so November added, lying a hand on top of July's head -- an almost affectionate gesture that he hadn't ever tried before. "Don't worry. July is by my side. Hurry, Misaki"

There was no way that woman was unaware that, if November caught up to that little bomber, that target would be as good as dead! Despite that she ran away, leaving him to handle the kid. The kid taunted them, telling them to reach him to fight, having taken shelter on the upper floors of a building. Inside, from what November could see, was some sort of lobby, darkened and very mundane-looking. Ah, an aquarium, a good source of water. Having analyzed the surroundings, November decided to advance towards the aquarium, extending a hand towards it.

"Prints" said July very softly, emotionless. November stopped immediately. "They're everywhere"

"I set traps on everything you're capable of freezing! You can't attack me!" the kid bragged upstairs. "Come and get me if you can! You're supposed to be an excellent Contractor, aren't you?!"

Yes. Yes, he'd get him. November frowned, his mind already working on how to handle the situation. By the time November was already running up the stairs with July behind him, everything in the lobby began exploding, filling the room with fire!

There! The door! November moved to grab the doorknob. Before he could, though, July grabbed November's coat, stopping him, right when the door lighted up with about two dozen handprints, exploding and blasting the wall in front of it -- and where November would have been at if July hadn't stopped him!

"We can do it" July murmured. There was absolutely no change in his perpetually blank expression. Still...it was the first time November had heard him say anything like that. November couldn't help it, he smiled at his partner.

The entire building shook, several explosions happening all over it. Walls, roof, everything fell apart, its structure compromised -- but the building didn't fall. November asked July to stand back at a safe distance. Wouldn't want him to get hurt during the confrontation, after all. Having confirmed thanks to July's vision the kid they were hunting was in this room, November waited.

And while he waited, it began raining, raining pretty heavily. A very convenient rain that could only mean one thing, he realized. April was back in action, and was nearby. A word from July confirmed it, having used his power to figure out where she was.

These were truly great partners for him.

When the door opened, November moved immediately, with a large icicle in his hand. Smiling coldly at the kid, he reared his arm and plunged the icicle right into the kid's chest.

-ooooo-

November sat inside the building, the kid's corpse right there, and everything was soaking wet -- including the cigarettes he needed now. How troublesome that after using his power he had to do something as awful as smoking! While he tried in vain to smoke, link texta woman approached him, with a considerable amount of bandages, and holding a dry carton of cigarettes at him.

"What's this? Revenge on my behalf?" she asked him, almost teasing.

November gratefully took a cigarette. "That's not funny" he said, very glad to see her. It was obvious from a glance how comfortable he felt with her around.

"Neither was your joke" she said, drinking a can of beer. Just a couple steps away, July waited for them to recover.

-----------

[When the memory was over, November could only watch where the bubble had been at, staring at it with something pretty close to nostalgia]

...what a convenient way for others to meet my team. These bubbles are such a breach of privacy, aren't they?

[Not only his own status as a Contractor is clear as day, but his team's apperances got revealed. Were he still part of the MI6, he'd be very alarmed!]

[Shitposting is always such a good time, haha]

He is. As you may imagine at first I wasn't too interested in taking along a child -- but the anomaly that caused people to gain powers didn't care about things like age, and my superiors didn't seem to think him being a child was an issue.

[There even have been Contractors who were born as one, meaning they weren't ever human at any point. Rough world, his is!]

But it turned out to be a good idea. July is indispensable.

[And lucky enough to be the only one of this team of three who survives to the end of canon, really]
