[ She approaches until she takes a seat next to him. She isn't super emotive usually, but she's even less so tonight, but it's not like she's unfeeling. ]
[He shifts slightly, enough to make room for her--but only for a moment, before moving right back and leaning against her. It's unlikely he even notices how emotive she is or isn't--he's mostly lost in his own thoughts, right now.]
We'd talked about setting up nightly patrols. We thought... it would be best to be cautious, even if we couldn't do anything to stop ourselves from falling asleep. We stayed in the dojo together, last night.
[ She leans against him in return. It's more than she wants to support Yasusada, so she has to turn off certain facets of herself in order to do so (her vampirism). She doesn't mind if he's lost in his thoughts. She expects it. ]
You were trying, and that counts. [ Even if it didn't do any good in the end. ]
It counts even if it didn't stop what happened. We'll make up for it tomorrow.

This would have been a nice one to prevent.

[And none of it did any good, in the end.]

Yeah. He had his sword [I assume] so... maybe he was able to fight back, at first.
[It's difficult to imagine him losing a fight, with his blade at hand and his speed--but, well. None of them are infallible.]
...I want to know what happened to 9S, too. They both deserve that.

If he didn't fight back and he was able to, I'd be disappointed.
[ But she can acknowledge there could be abilities at play that could sway that.
She thinks, if Buzen didn't fight back if he could, were all his words to being a support to everyone simply that? ]
We'll do our best to tackle both.
[ But she won't blame Yasusada or Kiyomitsu if they choose to focus more on Buzen's murder. ]

If he didn't... [Man, he didn't even think about Buzen choosing not to, for whatever reason.] If he didn't, I'd be really surprised.
[Not that he knew Buzen any better than anyone else here, arguably--but still. Sword bond and all.]
Mm. Thank you.

[ So she isn't going to strike it off as impossible if a murderer tried to sneak in when everyone was asleep. Or today. ]
I'll defer to you.
[ For that and for what kind of damage Buzen was likely to leave behind. ]

Oh... they might've used one, huh. [He didn't think of that. Swords are not so good at solving murders.]

[ It's fine. That's why there are thirty other people collectively solving murders. ]
But it's something I want to keep in mind since Buzen and 9S both used swords.
