but that's not a bad thing. it means he hasn't lost sight of himself yet, or fallen back into what he felt that night, where attacking 9S felt like the right to do. so once he's recovered, he uses both hands to swing the sword up in a wide slash, leaving himself open instead of covering his weak spots. ]
[Usually, when they're training, Yasusada will give instructions, or call out Kazu's weaknesses and openings. This time, though, he's quiet, focused. He watches Kazu's face, the wild shifting of his shoulders, and reacts accordingly.
He shifts in and jabs at Kazu's solar plexus--and while normally he doesn't hold back in training, this time, it's just enough to knock the wind out of him for a moment. For all his fervor and intensity, Yasusada has the control of Okita Souji; he will not truly injure someone within his range unless he wants to.]
[ the strike lands, of course. kazunari sees it coming, but he's not fast enough to dodge, and he doesn't really try, anyway. he wheezes for a second to try to catch his breath, but then he gives yams a small smile and swings the sword in a horizontal slash. there's not as much frantic energy behind this one, something more like a familiar routine. ]

Honestly, that's fair--Yasusada can't understand it on the same level as the other refracted, but he gets where Kazu is coming from.
