Ah... That's true. That must have been frustrating for you guys, huh?

[ he nods, and points to one with his pencil. as he speaks, a slow smile pulls at the corners of his lips. ]

That's TenTen - our troupe leader. He's a pro actor straight from the big leagues, but apparently he used to get stage fright for live shows, so he joined us to try to get over that. He's... a pretty harsh critic, and kind of a stick in the mud, but he's really just awkward. He means well, though, and always wants to give the best show possible.

And his acting? Totally inspiring! I can only dream of being that good someday.

Mm, a little. And nobody wants to practice after people see your memories...

[Which is like, fair. He will give everyone a pass this week.

He listens, though, happy to hear Kazu talk--happy to hear him sounding more like himself, especially.]

Heeeeh... some of the other swords get a little nervous or embarrassed too, when we're performing. They're getting better at it, though!

That makes sense. A lot of the ones I saw would kind of wreck your motivation.

Huh... Guess I never considered that you guys might get embarrassed like regular old humans do. You just don't seem like the type, and Kiyopi and ZenZen are always so confident.

[That makes him laugh, though it's a happy sound, not unkind.]

They're definitely made for performing! It was a little harder for me at first, but I got used to it. Some of our comrades only do it because Aruji says we have to, though.

It really does take getting used to, huh? Why'd you start performing, anyway? I never thought tsukumogami would be interested in that kind of thing.

[aitou]

Aruji says it's the way we do battle in peaceful eras! They don't use swords during those times, so it's kind of like boosting morale instead.

[dms]

Boosting morale is one thing, but battle? That would make even me a decent fighter.

[aitou]

[That makes him laugh, and he waves a hand.]

Well, we don't really fight anyone when we're performing, you know. It's just singing and dancing.

[dms]

I know, but that's the first time I've heard it referred to like that.

...Is any of your music in the music store? Kumopi and I found some that we made before. I'd like to hear yours.

[aitou]

Mmhmm! I can play it for you, if you want.

[dms]

[ a pause, and he nods. ]

Yeah, if you don't mind.

[aitou]

[The pause catches his attention, and he tilts his head slightly.]

Are you okay?

[dms]

...Yeah. It's just... been a weird week. And today was pretty bad all around, you know?
