I was thinking about what Kiyomitsu mentioned--that there might be something else involved too. It doesn't really make sense, if all of this happened because of the prism.

[Why would the prism want them to try and catch Kazuma, if the prism was the reason Kazuma killed Ryunosuke in the first place? And yet, trying to fit it to logic doesn't necessarily feel right, either.]

But then... maybe that's thinking of it too much like a human. [It's so hard to tell. They know so little.]

Last time I talked to Shale-san, they said they were worried we'd hurt ourselves by rejecting it and trying to find a way home.

I was told that too. Sort of the idea that we have to get settled first, before we proceed with anything - but I think the longer we wait, the more our numbers will dwindle. It's the equivalent of trying to hold down a fortress that's being starved out, I guess.

But we lack information on the enemy, and we don't know how to infiltrate it either.

Mm... I'm worried about what might happen to our memories, too. I don't want to start forgetting, if we're here for too long.

[They could wait for the saniwa forever, really--but he doesn't really want to. And he certainly doesn't want to risk forgetting, the way the residents have. He'd rather fail and die than abandon the mission and his memories altogether.]

[ . . . aw. buzen will just tilt his head at that]

... want to try writing stuff down?

I think that's why Ame writes poetry sometimes... because he's moved, or because he wants to honor the memory of something. I don't know if I could use the same words he does but... maybe that'd work until you get your memories back?

[Oh--he hadn't thought of that. He tilts his head, considering it.]

That's a good idea. Even if our memories are okay, it might be important.

[Considering what happened to Kazuma and Ryunosuke--it might come in handy in other ways.]

I don't know what I'd really write down... It's hard to say what makes a memory important, or if when you look back on something, it's small things that really stick out to you.

[and how sometimes memory is attached to things like existing, especially for buzen]

But we can try.

I think I'd want to write down everything.

Me too. I'd start with 'I met Yasu-san and Kiyo-san of the Shinsengumi, even though we didn't know that we were comrades to start. But we get along well, and I am glad we know each other now.'

[so simple.... so stupid.....]

That'd be a sad thing for me to forget - I'm glad we're all here together.
