The missions they've been sent on can hardly be called familiar, even if it's history they're intimately close to--but it always comes down to the fights they know, in the end. The Retrograde Army might plot and scheme and maneuver, but at their cores, they're still weapons too. At some point, steel always clashes, and the world makes sense again, if only for one fight.
A situation like this, though... here, all Yasusada can really do is try to mitigate Kashuu's panic, and use that focus to ignore his own. But it's not easy to maintain that when each day that passes raises more and more questions without answering any of them.
And Kashuu's right, anyway. Their world needs them--their master needs them. That's not something so easily put aside.]
Did you ask them if there's a way to talk to Aruji? I was going to--Idokku said to try talking to the others, that they might know more.
